Founder Office · Limited seats

Judgment for founders still in the arena.

I work alongside a small number of founders on the decisions that shape companies: capital, people, partnerships, growth and the hard calls in between.

Why this exists

I back founders. I do not run a consultancy.

Over the past few years, more and more founders have reached out for advice, introductions, fundraising support, hiring decisions and strategic guidance. I genuinely enjoy helping, and some of those conversations have led to fantastic outcomes.

At the same time, LEGNDS is my full-time commitment. I cannot become an advisor to everyone who asks, and I do not want to give superficial advice simply to be helpful.

So every year I reserve a small number of Founder Office seats. When I commit, I invest my time, network and reputation properly. The fee is not about monetising conversations. It creates mutual commitment, protects focus and ensures that the founders I work with genuinely value the relationship.

Current, not historical

Your challenges are not theoretical to me.

I am still in the arena. Every week I am making hiring decisions, raising capital, negotiating partnerships, building product, navigating setbacks and making mistakes while building LEGNDS.

You do not get yesterday’s playbook. You get lessons being learned in real time.

About Robain

Built from zero. Scaled. Exited. Building again.

Robain de Jong

Founder · Operator · Investor

I spent close to a decade building Ecoscooting, a last-mile logistics company that was acquired by Cainiao, Alibaba’s logistics arm. After the acquisition, I led operations and commercial activity in Iberia, seeing both sides of company building: the intensity of starting from zero and the systems of a global technology organisation.

Today I am building LEGNDS, investing in start-ups and working alongside a small number of founders whose ambition, integrity and speed of execution I believe in.

A strong fit

This works when you want challenge, not validation.

Usually a fit

  • You are building a real company with meaningful stakes.
  • You value directness, speed and practical judgment.
  • You execute between conversations.
  • You want a committed thought partner, not an outsourced consultant.

Usually not a fit

  • You want someone to produce decks or run projects for you.
  • You are looking for generic mentoring without clear decisions to make.
  • You mainly want introductions rather than a working relationship.
  • You are not ready to hear a direct view when I disagree.

Questions

What founders ask before applying.

Who is Robain de Jong?

I am a founder, operator and investor based in Madrid. I built Ecoscooting, a last-mile logistics company acquired by Cainiao (Alibaba’s logistics arm), and led operations and commercial activity in Iberia after the acquisition. Today I am building LEGNDS and advising a small number of founders through the Rob & The Young Founder Office.

What is the Rob & The Young Founder Office?

A limited-seat advisory relationship for ambitious founders—not a consultancy. Each year I reserve a small number of seats to work directly on the decisions that shape companies: capital, people, partnerships, growth and the hard calls in between.

How much does it cost to work with you?

A one-off Founder Session is €295 (excl. VAT) for a 90-minute working session. The Founder Office is €2,500 per month (excl. VAT), billed in advance with no minimum term and cancellable by email.

How is this different from a consultant or agency?

I do not produce decks or run projects. I am still in the arena—raising capital, hiring, negotiating and building LEGNDS every week—so you get current pattern recognition and direct judgment, not yesterday’s playbook or outsourced delivery.

Who is a good fit?

Founders building a real company with meaningful stakes who value directness, execute between conversations, and want a committed thought partner rather than validation.
